On 11th July, the York BID Annual General Meeting at The Principal York was a fantastic gathering of local business representatives and partners for an update on all things York.
David Skaith, Mayor for York and North Yorkshire Combined Authority, spoke about his early days in office and shared his ambitions for supporting high streets across the region.
Andrew Lowson, Executive Director of York BID, gave a health check for the high street and how York is performing economically compared to the rest of the country.
Allan Cook, Founder of Arlington Real Estate, one of the strategic developers of York Central alongside McLaren Property | Living | Regeneration, spoke about the regeneration project’s local significance. He shared how:
🚀 York Central will complement the York BID area and bring new opportunities for growth and collaboration between local businesses.
🤝 The local community plays a vital role, and existing independent businesses are encouraged to get involved in the project.
🌱 Sustainability is at the heart of York Central, with innovative features such as transporting materials by train to the site being explored.
📣 The York business community will be actively engaged throughout the project.
York Central is set to transform the city of York and we can’t wait to see the positive impact it will have on our high streets and beyond. We look forward to working together with local businesses to make this vision a reality.
