The York Central team were very grateful to be invited by City of York Council Holgate Ward Councillors to two recent public meetings they organised to update local residents about progress of the development.
These events – one held in Holgate and one and the other in the Leeman Road area of York – were a great opportunity for the master developers of the project, McLaren Regeneration and Arlington Real Estate to outline their vision and aspirations for the project, ahead of full public consultation on the first phase of York Central in the new year.
Over 120 residents attended over the two sessions to discuss key local issues including an improved replacement of the Wilton Rise footbridge next to the railway station, the riverside path upgrade plans near Leeman Road, progress from John Sisk on the infrastructure works, as well important topics raised by the community.
Various members of the York Central team were on hand to update the community and to answer queries about these important local issues, as well as explain the next stages of this exciting project.
The meetings were held at St Barnabas School, off Leeman Road and St Paul’s Church, off Holgate Road, and were chosen to try and make it as accessible as possible for the community around the site to attend.
