Everyone is welcome to join free, family friendly archaeology events this August.
At Uncovering York Central join us to discover what’s been found hiding underneath the site so far, come and meet the team, get the latest updates on York Central.
With photos and exhibits, a discovery sand pit and a chance to dress up as an engineer or an archaeologist, there’s fact finding fun for everyone.
What’s happening?
The York Central Partnership, in collaboration with infrastructure contractors, John Sisk and Son Ltd and archaeology consultants Tetra Tech and On-Site Archaeology, invite you to drop into York Central this August to uncover some of the interesting things found so far on site.
From pots and pottery to railway relics and even human remains, come and find out about the historic finds and the archaeological techniques at York Central.
You can:
- Speak to the archaeologists and engineers
- Explore a range of exhibits
- Uncover treasures in a sand pit
- See machines that are working on site
Plus, there will be a scale model of the York Central masterplan and an opportunity to ask questions and make suggestions for future phases.
